He earned his medical degree from Al-Kindy College of Medicine and MPH in Epidemiology from Tulane University as a Fulbright Scholar. He completed his Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of South Florida after finishing Internal Medicine residency at the University of Florida-Gainesville. Abbas is one among handful of fellowship-trained bariatric/advanced endoscopists nationwide who graduated from Harvard Medical School’s Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
